I see your good works, but “Because thou hast left thy first love,” you have not pleased Me. Your first love is precious to Me, it is My heart’s desire and My cherished possession; Without it, all your diligent works amount only to a carnal regression. All the nations of the world recruit the young, the vibrant, the strong,
for their military; Those that are too old and weak are passed over, rejected and sent home – they are not necessary. God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts, for most of God’s warriors are gray; Their hands, though gnarled and wrinkled, have worn out many Bibles, and their knees hurt when they pray. God’s love for his own assures their eternal destination;
John saw this, as the Holy Spirit inspired him to write, in the book of the Revelation. Because His elect are the sheep of His pasture, His cattle and kine, God instructed the rider on the black horse, “See thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” |
