God’s love for his own assures their eternal destination; John saw this, as the Holy Spirit inspired him to write, in the book of the Revelation. Because His elect are the sheep of His pasture, His cattle and kine, God instructed the rider on the black horse, “See thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” The sons of Abraham are God’s oil and wine; They are the branches, and Christ is the vine. These are the sons by faith, not the sons by birth; Jesus assured them, “More than many sparrows are ye worth.” The unredeemed are neither oil nor wine; They look only to themselves; they do not abide in the vine. They trust only in their senses; they do not live by faith; They delight only in fulfilling their lusts – in their heart, Christ has no place. The oil and the wine are God’s Creation. Only God can create a new heart; it is not by man’s provocation. It is not by the will of the flesh nor by the will of man’s mind; Christ alone can create the oil and turn the water into wine. Oil and water can never be mixed; This is a law of nature that God symbolically fixed. Neither in the natural, nor in the Divine, God’s oil cannot mix with worldly water unless He turns it into wine. When God turns the water into wine, a Holy Transaction has taken place. Man is no longer a slave to his fleshly cravings; to a new Master he now relates. The Holy Spirit directs his gaze upward; he has been born again, as in the Bible, it is read. His mortal spirit has been quickened, by the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
