When we choose our mate, and commit to them before God, we make our wedding vow; Our commitment is made before Almighty God; it binds us together forever, not just for now. Death is the only means for this union to be dissolved, in the sight of God; To the carnal world this sounds ludicrous -- more than just a little bit odd. When the Holy Spirit chooses us for His own, and we believe and say yes to Jesus, we make our vow; Our commitment is made before Almighty God; it binds us together forever, not just for now. Neither death nor eternity can cause this union to be dissolved, in the sight of God; To the carnal world, the preaching of the cross is foolishness -- more than a little bit odd. These two commitments are types and shadows of one another, more than just parallel; The woman was created for man; man was created for God's Son; both joined to forever dwell. If these two unions follow God's Plan, they will endure forever; nothing, and no one, can disavow. God's ways are forever, His Plans are immutable; they stand eternally, not just in the here and now. Both commitments call for the forsaking of all others, turning our backs on former ties; Committing totally to one another, without exception; being faithful to one another, whatever betides. We must count the cost before we sell out completely, and purchase the pearl of great price; If we totally commit, we have the sure promises of God to sustain us past the remainder of our life.
