The small town pastor that has labored many years, faithfully obeying God’s Call, Who has denied his flesh, served for little pay, giving God his all, Having to work a second job to make ends meet, while laboring for his Lord – This is a Camp Fire General that mingles with his troops while sharpening his sword. For many years, he has led by example: warring on the front line, Preaching to the lost, visiting the sick, suffering reproach while being kind, Repairing his church, using his own money at times, encouraging his flock, Seldom having time for himself, always striving for God, always “on the clock.” Many people has he impacted through the years; many has he taught That take him for granted, lightly regarding him, without a second thought. Some of his own congregation may not “see” him as they pass him about town; Others may see him but try to avoid him, sporting a frown. God may be the only One Who truly regards his labor and walk, Who sees his Godly conversation, his works that follow his talk; For his service, in this life, he may never receive any promotion or renown, Except from his Heavenly Father; the stars he lacks on his shoulders will be placed in his crown.
