God’s strength is made most perfect in weakness; God’s Mighty River flows through a spirit of meekness. The meek shall inherit the earth one day, according to the Bible; Those that require God’s strength the most, He deems reliable. To the man that trembles at His Word and is of a contrite heart, God looks to in that day, when He needs someone to take a part. When God is looking for someone to stand in the gap, He looks to the Man who lacks self-sufficiency, which is ego’s trap. Paul said, “When I am weak, then am I strong.” I will therefore glory in mine infirmities, as I journey along. His power flows through me when I am the most feeble, When I am convinced that I am the least of all of God’s people. Not many wise or noble does God call; God chooses the foolish to confound the wise, most of all. He chooses those that “are not,” to bring to naught those that “are.” He rejects the beautiful to do His bidding; He chooses the man with a scar. The more needy, and broken, and self-deficient am I, The more insecure I feel in myself, when I try, Then am I forced to trust in Him; when I am the most nervous, That is when I am the most useful to God to perform in His service.
