The Other Foot

Man’s foot is always eager to step out and take credit when things are going well;
      He never considers any other recourse until fortunes change, and he is opposed by Hell.
When the ground is no longer solid to the touch or clear to the eye, his foot is slow to move;
      He will not place his trust in anything he cannot touch, smell, or see; with his senses, he must prove.

Carnal man is of the earth; earthly, sensual, and devilish, are his ways in God’s sight;
      God is only pleased with the step of faith – the foot that trusts that God’s way is right.
When we walk in the Spirit, by faith in God’s Word, irregardless of the weather,
      God’s Spirit makes us free and gives us life, breaking Satan’s hateful, oppressive tether.

The other foot, that fallen man has never used, is the means of his salvation;
      The step of faith, ordered by the Holy Spirit, is God’s key to fallen man’s elevation.
If he would only humble himself and pray, seeking God’s face, and turn from his wicked way,
      Then would he hear from Heaven; God would forgive his sins, and his other foot would lead him into golden day.

Composed by Jim Newnam
Psalm 51:7
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

The six-pointed Star of David is the symbol of the hyssop blossom. I have adopted the Star of David as an emblem of God’s goodness and salvation.
