Misplaced Love

Anxiety, heartache, and confusion, are the fruits of misplaced love;
      God must be the sole owner of our affections; passion must only fly with the Heavenly Dove.
Earthly affections must never pull us down from Heavenly Currents that stay our wings;
      Our hearts must be constrained by our Creator; our sway must be only to Celestial Things.

All the pleasures that this world provides only dampens our feathers and pulls us down;
      The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, bind us to the ground.
If we forsake earthly moorings, the lighter our flesh will be, the more we can soar;
      When carnality falls from our neck, our eyes are brightened; we fain take flight to Heaven’s Door.

Let God’s Love burn with a pure flame of Celestial Blue, no tell-tale smoke of carnal corruption,
      Divine Love, without earthly, sensual alloy, without falsehood, selfishness, or deception.
Only the Holy Spirit, can orchestrate this Heavenly Love; it has no ties to carnal man;
      This is Agape love, God’s confection; paid for by His Son, with His perfect Salvation Plan.

Composed by Jim Newnam

Psalm 51:7
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”

The six-pointed Star of David is the symbol of the hyssop blossom. I have adopted the Star of David as an emblem of God’s Goodness and Salvation.
