Lukewarm Fire

When our soul feels cold and hungry, beware of the world’s lukewarm fire;
      It feels warm to the senses, but it numbs our Godly desire.
Our hunger for God’s warmth has not been filled; our needs have not been met;
      Carnal answers to Heavenly issues only cause Godly embers to become wet;

We must diligently seek God; we must only warm ourselves at His fire;
      Let us seek the warmth of the scriptures; let the Holy Spirit lift us up higher.
The love of this world contains the seeds of destruction and death;
      Their kind of warmth leaves them destitute, so they turn to crystal meth.

Jesus said, “If you become lukewarm, I will spew you out of my mouth.”
      Many churches have pandered to the world; their salt & light has gone south.
Walking in the Spirit and obedience to God’s Word is no longer their desire;
      They have partook of the world’s pottage and its lukewarm fire.

As Peter followed Jesus from afar, and then warmed himself at the temple fire,
      He became filled with the world’s attitude and clothed with their carnal attire.
When asked if he knew Jesus, he denied that he knew his Lord and Savior;
      He had warmed at the world’s lukewarm fire; his salt had lost its savor.

Lord, help me to seek only Your warmth, free from the lust of worldly gain;
      Let my soul be content and trust that my earthly needs You'll maintain.
Help me not to covet the wealth of my fellow man nor look to his desire;
      Grant that I seek the treasures of Heaven, and warm at the Holy Ghost Fire.

Psalm 51:7
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

The six-pointed Star of David is the symbol of the hyssop blossom. I have adopted the Star of David as an emblem of God’s Goodness, and Salvation.
