Your Peace of God

Do not become encumbered by petty annoyances. Never respond to emotional upsets by emotional upset. Try to keep calm in all circumstances. Try not to fight back. Call on the grace of God to calm you when you feel like retaliating.
Look to God for inner strength to drop those resentments that drag you down. If you are burdened by annoyances, you will lose your inward calm and peace and the spirit of God will be shut out. Try to keep peaceful within. We will be of little use if our attitude is one of bitterness or hostility.

Ecclesiastes 7
v.9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
v.18 The man who fears God will avoid all extremes

Ecclesiastes 8:1 Wisdom brightens a man's face and changes its hard appearance.

Ecclesiastes 9:17 The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.
Father, thank You for Your peaceful love that calms and fortifies our souls. The rough abrasions of the day-to-day world are soothed and healed under the balm of Your spirit. Help us to not respond to the flesh with the flesh, but to walk in Your presence and be filled with Your Spirit like a saturated sponge so we splash grace on others when they bump into us. We know that in the quiet intimacy with You is where the heart-felt joy can be found that gives us strength; encourage us to press in to that secret place where You meet with us and renew our spirits to face the stresses and noises and crowds and thoughtless actions of people without the assurance of Your promises, without the comfort of Your love, distracted by worry, fretting with anxiety. Thank You that You have given us surcease of sorrow and an end to fear and striving in our own strength; give us, we pray, the words of life that let us speak ease and peace into the hearts of those searching for You. Give us the love for the unlovely that fills Your heart.
