You Are On His Mind

Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

Throughout the day, acknowledge God's presence. When you need His wisdom, call upon Him for that moment's need. When a problem arises, reach out to Him, for He is already there with the answer -- a word, a prayer, an anointing to heal or to fight off an attack.
Psalm 139:17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

You are in His thoughts. He is planning how to do you good; His love requires expression, and you are the object of His love. He has so much love to express to you -- reach out to Him and let Him shower you with His goodness.

Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts,

The only thing that can separate us from God's presence and His love is ourselves. Even then, we are not really distant from God. We are simply distracted by our doubts, fears, dismay and anxiety so that we don't notice His evidence of love.

Haggai 1
v.5 Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways.
v.6 You have planted much, but have harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it."

If we can be distracted from acknowledging the presence of God, we wind up relying on our own strength, following our own thoughts. And our thoughts can be influenced by many things: how hot or cold we feel, how hungry we are, what the last person said, and what they meant by it, on down a winding path lower and lower into distraction, then depression and fear.

Fear is disloyalty to God, simply put. Even the smallest fear ends up wearing at the cords of faith that hold us close to God. If we allow those small fears to return time and again, eventually our faith can wear thin so that one disappointment or shock can cause those cords to snap. God didn't change, but we failed to continually choose to focus on the reality of His presence and the evidence of His love.

Haggai 2
v.4 ...'Be strong, all you people of the land,' declares the Lord, 'and work. For I am with you,' declares the Lord Almighty.
v.5..."And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear."

Where the Spirit of God is, there is freedom. Freedom from fear, freedom to praise. God dwells in the praises of His people. Let the power of praise set you free from the things that try to hold you down, tie you to the earth, distract you from the awareness of God and His blessings and His love and His provision and His guidance and His grace.
God, loving Father, thank You that You are with us. Thank You for the constantly present evidence of Your continuing love for us. Thank You for each breath we take. Thank You for each beat of our hearts. We cannot make them happen. If You take them, we perish. We are here by Your grace and Your mercy, two faces of the same gold coin, made of Your love, Your nature. You are worthy to receive praise, O Lord, for You are the One who will reign for ever and ever in justice with Your great power. We magnify and exalt You, O Lord, as we walk in Your presence today!
