2 Corinthians 6
v.16 For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: "I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
v.17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you.
v.18 And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty."
2 Corinthians 7:1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Our lives must show the touch of the living Savior. We must bear the mark of the loving Lord. We must give refreshing water to those around us who are dry and parched. To do this, we must have our life in the heavenlies. We must seek for different things than the people around us seek. We must be spiritually-minded, not carnally-minded.

To live the spiritual life, you must believe in what you cannot see. To grow in the life of the spirit, you have to rely on the invisible. To please God we must have faith, which is the evidence of things not seen. In quiet times of intimacy with God, try to lose yourself in the awareness of His unseen presence. As a child in its mothers arms, stay sheltered in the understanding and love of God. He will relieve you of the weight of worry and care, misery and depression, want and woe, faintness and heartache, if you will let Him. Lift up your eyes from earthly troubles and view the glory of the unseen God. Each day try to see more good in people, more of the unseen in the seen.

Ecclesiastes 4

v.9 Two are better than one for they have a good return for their work
v.12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves, and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 5
v.15 A man takes nothing out of this world from his labor that he can carry in his hand.
v.19 To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life--this is indeed a gift from God.
v.20 God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past.

Jeremiah 31:12 They will come home and sing songs of joy on the heights of Jerusalem. They will be radiant because of the LORD’s good gifts— the abundant crops of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and the healthy flocks and herds. Their life will be like a watered garden, and all their sorrows will be gone.

The work of the kingdom, the labor in the vineyards, the harvesting of the grain fields, is hard work, exhausting, at times forced, hurried, rushing to be done, with never enough workers, always another field. The hours seem endless, the heat is overwhelming, the muscles are so tired! But we are not working alone -- a burden shared is a burden halved. We know the harvest we are gathering in will have eternal rewards -- the souls of men and women who will give praise to the Lord in eternity.  The tools are always sharp and available -- the master of the field has promised. And there is always plenty of cool, refreshing water to slake our thirst and serve as a promise to us of the incredible bounty during the celebration feast after the work is done.

Psalms 47
v.2 How awesome is the Lord most high, the great king over all the earth!
v.7 For God is the king of all the earth
v.8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on His holy throne.
V.9 The kings of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted.
Awesome God, You have counted us as kings and priests. We willingly acknowledge and proclaim that You are our king, and we gladly cast our crowns at Your feet, at the foot of Your throne on high. We can only see You by faith right now, but we look for, long for, and groan for the time, soon to arrive, when every eye will see You and all will be forced to acknowledge Your majesty and Your rightful rulership. As servant-kings in Your kingdom, we freely enter into the harvest-field and work side-by-side to gather the harvest before the autumn rains arrive and put an end to the in-gathering. We pray Your anointing on our words and our deeds as we follow the lead of the Spirit to do Your will on earth, as it is in heaven.
