The Good News from God

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

For rest from the care of life, you can turn to God each day in prayer and communion.
Real relaxation and true peace come from a deep sense of the fundamental goodness of the universe as God created it. His everlasting arms are underneath all and will support you. Commune with God, not so much for petitions to be granted as for the rest that comes from relying on His will and His purposes for your life. Be sure of God's strength which is available to you, be conscious of His support and wait quietly until that true rest from God fills your being.

Isaiah 43:25 I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

He has removed the burden we came to Him with, and we are free to refresh ourselves in His love and strengthen ourselves in His joy.

Isaiah 44
v.1 But now listen, O Jacob, my servant, Israel, whom I have chosen.
v.2 This is what the Lord says -- He who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you; Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
v.3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

He has been with us from the beginning and has patiently waited for us to become aware of Him, turn to Him, and walk with Him. His promises are to us and those after us, those dear to us; He will meet their needs and satisfy their desires as well.

Isaiah 44
v.6 This is what the Lord says -- Israel's King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.
v.8 Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.
v.9 All who make idols are nothing and the things they treasure are worthless.

We do not need to be concerned about what happens around us; He is aware of what will be and has made all preparation for it. We are safe in His hand. All He asks is that we be a separate and holy people unto Him to show forth His praises and to demonstrate His keeping power to the world so that He will have a witness before all men. Do not desire what the world desires, do not seek what the world seeks, for the things after which they strive will perish, and all who cling to those things will perish. Let us seek God who forgives our sins, empowers us to stand, and assigns us tasks as sons and daughters who are trusted with the Father's business.

Isaiah 44
v.21 Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are My servant, O Israel. I have made you, you are My servant; O Israel, I will not forget you.
v.22 I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you."
v.23 Sing for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done this; shout aloud, O earth beneath. Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees, for the Lord has redeemed Jacob, He displays His glory in Israel.

As we bear this message from the Sovereign King to His people who have been overtaken by lies and oppressed by the enemy, let us carry it with rejoicing and gladness, for it is the greatest news that any could receive. Even the ground under your feet will be touched by the benefits of what God had done -- how much more the hearts and lives of those created in the image of the Father?

Isaiah 44
v.24 This is what the Lord says -- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,
v.26 who carries out the words of His servants and fulfills the predictions of His messengers

God Himself watches over us as we go forth in His power on His business and He performs His word that He gives us, as we speak it forth. Even as Jesus' disciples rejoiced after He sent them out to preach the kingdom, can there be any greater joy than to speak life and forgiveness and healing and grace over a person and see God's blessing and power make a change in them? Those who labor in the field know the joy of the work, and they pray the Lord of the harvest that others be brought into the work, that the joy may be great.
Blessed Father, Lord and Creator of all, as we are rooted and established in Your love, grant us the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Let Your intent be accomplished that now, through us, the church, Your manifold wisdom should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to Your eternal purpose which You accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. Now to You, O God, who are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us, to You be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
