Talking to God

Nehemiah 1:4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

The central fact of our lives is the absolute certainty that God has brought us into His kingdom, revolutionizing our entire attitude toward life, toward others, and toward God, in a way that is indeed miraculous. He has started to accomplish those things for us in our lives that we could never do for ourselves, and He will finish what He has started.

He speaks to our hearts often, asking us to pray for an issue, large or small, for a time, long or short. As we continue to pray in obedience for that person or situation,  it releases God's Spirit to work His will in that matter.

Psalms 31:24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

When the answer comes, we see God's kingdom increased and established where it wasn't before, taking back what the enemy stole, for God rules the world even now, moving through the obedient and steadfast prayer of His people. People's lives change, relationships heal, minds and hearts are renewed; these are the true miracles, the ones with eternal results. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.

1 Corinthians 7:23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

Father God, thank You for giving us tasks to do for You in the kingdom of Your Son. Help us to recognize and follow the passions that You have placed in our hearts, the whispers with which You direct us, the Word that You make life to us.  Whether we feel the jobs are big or small, help us to see that we are expressing love to You when we follow Your leading, and that whatever we bring to the work, gladly and freely in Your name, You will multiply.
