Return to God

All that God planned at the beginning, and announced through Creation, and prepared for in the garden of Eden, though lost by Adam's disobedience, is restored through the work of Christ.

Jesus, through His obedience to the Father, accomplished what no one else could have done, and paid off the debt that all flesh owed. His sinless life and His shed blood, given by His free will, released every person who, through the action of turning from their old ways and asking for God's renewal, demonstrates their belief in God and His Son Jesus, the first-born of many brethren, the Head of Christ, God's anointed one.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Each member of the Body of Christ, through the centuries, has had a part, a task, a job to do, in accomplishing God's plan, which He designed from the start of Creation and described in its essence in Genesis, and soon will be realized as seen in Revelation.

Once we accept the salvation which Jesus purchased for us and which He gives freely to all who accept Him as Master, Lord, and King, as part of God's redemption plan, then we can start learning how to work, function, behave as a member of the Body of Christ, walking and living in the restored condition, the restoration of the fellowship God had with Adam for a time after Creation, and that He has always had with Jesus, even before Creation.

Just as salvation, the initial step in God's redemptive work, comes to us from above and not through our strength, our works, our determination, our efforts, so then after salvation, our on-going life, our growth, our walk must continue to come from God, for we will not gain perfection, maturity, completeness, the likeness of Jesus, by our own wisdom, strength, or abilities.

Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now going to be made complete by the flesh?

God has so much to offer to us. Restored relationship with Him on an individual, intimate, passionate level. Membership in the Body of Christ, tasked with carrying out the plan of God, working corporately with Jesus as our Head and with each other as a team in the bonds of love and the unity of the Spirit. An abundance of the life He breathes into us, contentment of soul, peace of mind, joy of heart, things that we are designed by God to want and to need, things that no one but God is able to fulfill, that nothing but obedience in the Spirit of God can bring.

Psalm 79:13 Then we Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, will praise You forever; from generation to generation we will recount Your praise.

Once those essential needs are satisfied and met from our rest and our work in God, we have the stability and the grace to be in healthy and right relationship with others around us. If we are demanding from our friends or our family or our spouse or our children those things that can and must come only from God, our relationships will be off-balance and harmful. But by making time for relationship with God, reading the Word which shows us His heart toward creation, conversing with God which tells us His desires and plans for us, He fills us, feeds us, indwells us, satisfies us with His living and loving Spirit, giving us the abundance that we can share with others, not to be God to them, but to point them to God when they want what they see in our lives.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Father, You have created us as You have seen fit, formed us as You determined we should be, and You are glorified when we, along with every part of Creation, do what You created us to do. You make our walk with You to be blissful, fulfilling, and satisfying; when it is less than that, Father, we know You have not changed or moved, but we have, and we draw near to You again to fulfill Your destiny, Your plan for us and for all of creation in the growth of Your kingdom and the reign of Your Son, Jesus the Christ.
