Justice For All

The judgment of God is righteous and fair. Although we often think of judgment only in turns of punishment and wrath which falls on evildoers, consider that the validation of righteousness is also the rejection and conviction of evil. By upholding the honor of the poor, defending the rights of the widow and orphans, fighting for the freedom of the oppressed and captive, we are executing the judgment of God and walking in the light of His integrity and love.
2 John 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.

The Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah are the same person -- Jesus Christ, Son of God, Son of Man -- He who walked ancient dusty roads in the heat of the sun, and now is eternally seated on the throne given Him by God the Father. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Jesus Christ shall receive honor and acknowledgment -- all tongues will proclaim Him Lord, all knees shall bow in homage; willingly or unwillingly, it shall be done. The only difference is which side you choose to be on.

Psalm 125
v.4 Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.
v.5 But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers.

He has been the lowest of the low, a homeless, landless individual from a conquered, subjugated people, supposed by neighbors to be out of wedlock, illegitimate, uneducated, convicted without committing a crime, stripped, beaten and publicly executed among thieves by representatives of the highest authorities in the world. But He has been given honor, authority, and eternal life by God, the Just and Final Judge of all.

Hosea 4
v.1 ..."There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land.
v.3 Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying."

To those who stand against God in rebellion against their Creator, trusting their own wisdom, strength, ability, power, and might, judgment is something to flee from, for His wrath is swift and sure, decisive and eternal when it falls, after the period of grace and mercy ends. They receive the promises of God which cast down the proud, reject the haughty, destroy the power of unjust leaders, scatter the riches of ill-gotten gain, break the arms of the powerful, and set on the ash-heap those who lived in contemptuous comfort while withholding the rightful wages of others.

Psalm 125
v.1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
v.2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore.

To those who trust their Maker, depending on Him as their source for all they have and all they are, the self-acknowledged poor, downtrodden, weak, incapable, unworthy, to those viewed as useless by the world's systems, God's judgment is sought for, prayed for, looked for. They receive the promises of God that lift up the bowed head, straighten the bent back, strengthen the feeble knees and weak arms, give honor to the hard-worker, respect to the down-trodden, and make useful, productive workers and citizens of the kingdom of God out of those rejected and preyed upon others.

2 John 1:8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
Righteous Lord, You are just and fair. You extend to us mercy by not giving us what we deserve, and You shower us with grace by giving us undeserved favor. We turn to You, Mighty God, and acknowledge we are nothing without You. Thank You for the new life, the new heart, the new strength, the new relationship with God our Father that we have because of Your obedience, Jesus. Anoint us to do the work of sharing Your love to the world; guide us to the hearts that are hungry, empower us to abide in Your judgment as we see the works that Your love accomplishes in the lives and hearts of those it touches.
