Have a Little Talk

Talk to the Lord. Speak to Him of all that is in your heart. Describe how you feel -- good or bad. Be honest before Him. You won't surprise the Lord for He already knows your every thought. You won't scare Him, for He loves you as you are. You won't shake Him, for He is greater than any doubt or worry. You will please Him for He desires our fellowship, as a father desires time with his children.

Psalm 145
v.1 I will exalt You, my God the King; I will praise Your name for ever and ever.
v.2 Every day I will praise You and extol Your name for ever and ever.

As you talk to Him, remember all He has given you. He knit you in your mother's womb. He fashioned your parts in secret.

Psalm 139:13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb.

He gives you breath each time you draw in a lungful of air.

Psalms 81:10 I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

He provides you the food you need to eat and the water you need to drink.

Psalm 104:28 When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.

He is there for you, listening, a steady companion, in sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth, whether you are doing badly or better. As long as you are willing to talk to Him, He will listen.

Psalm 145
v.8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
v.9 The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all he has made.
v.13 ...The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made.
v.14 The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
v.17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made.
v. 18 The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth

God has much to say to each of us, but He is gracious and patient and hears all we have to say. He listens to everything we want to tell Him, so take time to converse with Him, and when you are ready, He will share His love and His heart with you.

Psalm 145
v.19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
v.20 The Lord watches over all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.
v.21 My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise His holy name for ever and ever.

Blessed Father, You are kind and gentle with everlasting patience and lovingkindness toward those You have made, those whose hearts are toward You, whether filled with love and praise or filled with questions and sorrow. You are greater than our circumstances, Lord; thank You for letting us catch sight of You above the stormy waves. Thank You for giving us other believers through whom You reach out with comforting arms and needed resources. We speak to one another of Your faithfulness, of the power of Your awesome works, celebrating Your abundant goodness, speaking of the glorious splendor of Your majesty, proclaiming Your great deeds, and joyfully singing of Your righteousness. We extol You, Lord!
