Cling To His Promises

Our birth in Christ is as certain as God's promise. When we come to recognize our need and turn in belief to God's promise, and in acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice, the Spirit moves in ways we can not understand but with results we cannot deny to lift the burden of sin from our hearts and give us joy that shows in our faces and voices and actions.
Our life in Christ is also built on the solid, unchanging promises of God's Word, placed as bricks or stones are built up to form the foundation and wall of a building. It requires the mortar of our will, our choice, our decision to grasp those promises as ours, to hold them in place in our lives. The building blocks of God's truth are eternal; they will not change. But if the quality of the mortar, our determination to follow and obey His Word, is not strong, the wall will crumble to a pile of rubble.

Keep the consciousness of God's Spirit fresh in your life. Think of Him often, speak to Him frequently, read of Him to start the day, work for Him before the day ends. Let the water of the Spirit infuse the mortar of your life, and let your will draw from, and bind you to, the strength and unchanging quality of the promises of the Word of God.

Stay sheltered in the understanding and love of God; let Him relieve you of the weight of worry and care, misery and depression, want and woe, faintness and heartache. Lift your vision up from earth's troubles and catch sight of God's glory. Let your time in His presence alter your perspective to see more good in people -- more of the Eternal in the temporary, more of the Unseen in the seen.

Psalm 46
v.1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
v.2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
v.7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
God, our Father, we honor You for Your provision in our lives on a daily basis. You walk with us, You keep us steady; if we stumble or fall, You pick us up and give us strength to continue. When we wake, You are there; when we sleep, You watch over us. We turn from the noise of the world, quiet our thoughts and our emotions, and in the stillness before You, You make Yourself known to us as our God.
