Luke 7:47 Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; that's why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little."
The more intimate our encounter, the more profound our desire to know and experience more.

Luke 3
v.2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert. v.3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. This was revolutionary! We sometimes lose track of what a stir this caused, but consider -- for centuries, generations, it was taught, and practiced, that only by the slaughter of livestock could sins be forgiven. If you asked one of the educated elite, they could give you theological discussions about it, but if you asked one of the regular farmers or merchants, it was more of a tax to feed the priests who maintained the social order. Numbers 14:24 But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.
2 Corinthians 2:11 I have done this so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes. The spies went into the land to see the resources, to learn of the inhabitants, and to bring back encouragement for the people of Israel who would be fighting the battles. These men who were forerunners were each the leaders of their tribes as well as heads of their families. But the majority of them were more aware of what they saw and heard from their enemies than of the works and words of God which they had witnessed and lived through. Most of these men, though they led tens of thousands among each of their tribes, allowed the newness and strangeness of the situation to create a spirit of fear inside them. James 5:20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
Evangelizing is part of our Christian walk. Sharing what God has given us is part of receiving more from God. Showing His compassion, sharing His grace, shedding His love abroad is a witness that is hard to dispute. God, in His love, has given us each other.
Jeremiah 49 v.4 In those days, at that time, declares the Lord, the people of Israel and the people of Judah together will go in tears to seek the Lord their God. v.5 They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten. |
