Talk to the Lord. Speak to Him of all that is in your heart. Describe how you feel -- good or bad. Be honest before Him. You won't surprise the Lord for He already knows your every thought. You won't scare Him, for He loves you as you are. You won't shake Him, for He is greater than any doubt or worry. You will please Him for He desires our fellowship, as a father desires time with his children.

God is not deaf. The One who made the ear is not hard of hearing, nor is He distracted from listening to the prayers of His people. He hears the faintest cries, for He is always right here beside us, and when He hears, He answers -- of that we have the promise and confidence of the Word of God. The depth and width and height of His love tells us that our cry to God will always evoke a response from our Father, for He cannot ignore us or turn a deaf ear to those He loves, any more than any of us can do so to a loved one, a family member.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Matthew 9
v.35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. v.36 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. v.37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. v.38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field." We are the sheep of the Lord; He is our shepherd. We are gathered in flocks and placed in pastures which give us the nutrition and the environment we need. The shepherd appoints caretakers to watch over us and guard us. We draw comfort from each other as we each trust the Shepherd of our souls. Psalm 6:1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.
We are each of us wild and unruly, individualistic, convinced we know the right way and the proper method to get done whatever is needed. We each need to be domesticated, like a colt or a puppy. We have a strong will, but we do not have the strength to defend ourselves against the enemies prowling for prey. Sheep have been taken care of for so many centuries that they can no longer survive without care. Like sheep, we *will* serve a master; unlike sheep, we can choose which master we serve. |
